For Boaters, By BoatersSM

The Berea Power Squadron is a group of individuals dedicated to helping recreational boaters advance their boating skills.  Increasing your boating skills will allow you to be more at ease on the water, which will allow you to be more relaxed and have more fun.  Our members participate by: going on cruises, volunteering their time to teach classes and seminars, performing vessel safety checks and much, much more! We try our best to make our activities fun while increasing our boating skill set.

Balancing Act

posted Jan 19, 2016, 7:29 AM by Bob Mueller   [ updated Jan 19, 2016, 7:31 AM ]

This skipper has two large rubber bags filled with water.  Each bag holds over 2,000 lbs of water.  The bags are pulled up a halyard, and with a twist of the helm the bags swing out over the side and put a serious list on the boat.  The skipper performs a delicate balancing act to maintain the list to get a 65' Mast under a 50' bridge.

Tall Ship is lost

posted Apr 2, 2015, 6:41 AM by Bob Mueller

One of the Tall ships that took part in the Battle of Lake Erie Reenactment may be lost at sea.  All hands had to abandon ship.  A locator and tracking beacon has been placed aboard.  Hopefully she survives and can be towed back to port when the weather clears up.

Berea Sail and Power Squadron

posted Mar 23, 2015, 11:13 AM by Bob Mueller   [ updated Apr 2, 2015, 7:01 AM ]

Berea Power Squadron has officially changed it's name to Berea Sail and Power Squadron.  The website is adorned with a new masthead which features the new name, and was brought into compliance with the National Branding Manual.  I welcome all comments and criticisms on the new design: bob.mueller@bereapowersquadron.org.

We may be exploring the possibility of getting a new URL for this website.  Some of the URL's that I explored, that are available:
www.bereasailandpowersquadron.org
www.bereasailandpower.org
www.bsaps.org

Personally, I like bsaps.org, only because it is short.  I always though our current URL is much too long.
